With the imminent release of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, will Ting be adding it to the list of devices as soon as the phone is released?
We haven't heard from Sprint about this device yet, but rest assured that when we do, we'll post about it on our blog!
Oooh. ♥ ♥ ♥ on the Galaxy Note specs.
Yeah. Totally hope Sprint picks this one up. I think this is when I'm finally going to splurge on a non-cheapo phone.
Exynos 5420/Snapdragon 800 SoC, 5.7" Super AMOLED Full HD Display, 3GB RAM, 13MP with UHD recording, Android 4.3, 3200mAh battery, 168g.
Replaces my prior phablet obsessions easily. I love their pressure-sensitive stylus on the Note series, and they've increased what you can do w/ it.
So, AT&T is sending these out starting October 1st. Sprint still has a "coming soon" - if Ting doesn't get first crack at these, presumably I can just buy/pre-order one off of Sprint's website in the next week or two, and then activate it on Ting, right?
Hi Derek, we likely won't have this device available for the Bring Your Own Device program when it first launches. You can keep an eye on the list of approved devices or our blog for any updates or announcements.
Ting has had a good record on having new samsung devices coming to ting. Do you think it will happen when the note 3 launches? I have 2 people wanting to switch to ting and one of them wants the note 3.
My wife and I will be switching to Ting when the Note 3 becomes available.
Hi Andrew and Jay, good news: the Galaxy Note 3 will be coming to Ting! We announced a few weeks ago that we'll be getting it soon. Keep your eyes on our devices page for it to be added for sale, or you can sign up for device alerts with the "Follow Us" link on Ting.com. We hope to have it for BYOD but don't have any time frames for new BYOD devices.
Thanks Henry, the info is appreciated!
Two quick questions:- Your last sentence, I'm not sure of the difference between "BYOD" and "new BYOD". The announcement states "Both of these brand new Samsung gadgets will be coming to Ting in early October." Does that mean I'll be able to purchase the Glaxy Note 3 through the Ting store in early October?- On the devices page, I am not finding a "Notify Me" for the Galaxy Note 3 (only the iPhone), am I blind?
Thanks again Henry!!
Henry meant that we don't have any news regarding adding more devices to our BYOD list, including the Galaxy Note 3.
The phone should be released to the public later this month, available from our Buy Devices page.
The "Notify Me" is strictly for the iPhone. The iPhone generates more inquires over any other phone, in our forums, across social media, and our blog comments than any other device by 7 million percent. Give or take.
I'm ready to order two Galaxy Note 3 devices as soon as they become available.
The wait is killing me. Take my money! Now! :D
I've been waiting to buy the Note 3 from Ting since it became available for Sprint last Friday. The wait is killing me too. Maybe it'll be up tomorrow, idk...
I'm waiting for the note 3 to hit the Ting store as well, its the only thing keeping me from joining ting right now. I'v been waiting since Sprint announced they will be getting the device.
Yeah! I see the Note 3 is now available! Of course "ships by Nov. 6" seems like an eternity.
2 questions before I "Buy It Now":- Is this the same flavor (model) of Note 3 as on the Sprint site? That Sprint phone is listed as Worldmode, which if I understand correctly is capable of GSM which will allow me to use the phone in Europe with a European SIM. (The Ting specs list "Frequency" as just "CDMA 800/1900, LTE 1900 MHz", no mention of GSM).- If the Note 3 phone sold by Ting is indeed Worldmode, will the phone come "unlocked" for use with a foreign SIM. (or what will it take to get the phone "unlocked"?).
If this phone is NOT Worldmode capable, then can you point me to a resource where I can purchase a Note 3 for BYOD that will meet my needs?
Good questions! The Note 3 that is sold on our site is identical to the one sold on Sprint. It is a world phone and can support both GSM and CDMA networks. In terms of whether or not it comes with an embedded or removable SIM, that is something we would still need to test out before providing you with a solid answer.
We can still unlock the device for voice and text usage - simply send us an email once you receive the phone and we'll take care of the rest.
There are now rampant reports of call drops and audio quality issues with the Sprint Note 3's, and since ting is technically Sprint in network and hardware, what can you guys do about this? Or are you at the mercy of Sprint and whatever they do trickles down to ting?
Hey Robert, we run off the Sprint network so their performance is our performance. However, if you are experiencing signal problems, it's best to reach out to us so we can investigate whether it's a problem on the device or the network.
WRT call quality, I guess he's referring to this thread.
If we still find a problem (we still have to attempt the troubleshooting, just to be safe, we never want to assume), we can flag towers for a team of Sprint engineers to be sent out.
I've had my Note 3 for over a week now, and 4G is still not working. Does ting have an update on when they will resolve their issues with this phone?
Hey Michael, I see that you have been working with a few team members on this connectivity issue. We are monitoring this and will updates you as more information comes in.
