Completing Activation for Your ANS 450R (GSM Only)

These activation steps are for the ANS 450R

 

Completing Activation on the GSM Network

1. Reset APN to Default

Before beginning these directions, insert your activated Ting GSM X1 SIM card.

  1. Go to Apps
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap More
  4. Tap Cellular networks
  5. Tap Access Point Names
  6. Tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots, top right-hand side)
  7. Tap Reset to default

2. Add Ting Data APN Settings

  1. Go to Apps
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap More
  4. Tap Cellular networks
  5. Tap Access Point Names
  6. Tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots, top right-hand side)
  7. Tap New APN
  8. Enter APN settings
    • Name: Ting Data
    • APN: wholesale
    • APN type: Check the following boxes: default, mms, supl, dun 
  9. If it's not set, enter 310 for MCC
  10. If it's not set, enter 260 for MNC
  11. For APN protocol, enter IPv4/IPv6 
  12. For APN roaming protocol, enter IPv4/IPv6
  13. Tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots, top right-hand side)
  14. Tap Save
  15. Select Ting Data as your APN
  16. Restart your device and wait for it to find the Ting network--this may take a minute or so
  17. Confirm that you're able to access data
  18. If you experience issues with data, try resetting the APN protocol and APN roaming protocol (steps 11 and 12) to IPv4 and IPv6.

3. Add Ting MMS APN Settings

  1. Go to Apps
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap More
  4. Tap Cellular networks
  5. Tap Access Point Names
  6. Tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots, top right-hand side)
  7. Tap New APN
  8. Enter APN settings
    • Name: Ting MMS
    • APN: wholesale
    • APN type: Check the following boxesmms 
    • MMSC: http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
  9. If it's not set, enter 310 for MCC
  10. If it's not set, enter 260 for MNC
  11. For APN protocol, enter IPv4  
  12. For APN roaming protocol, enter IPv4
  13. Tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots, top right-hand side)
  14. Tap Save
  15. Restart your device and wait for it to find the Ting network--this may take a minute or so
  16. Confirm that you're able to send and receive picture, video and group messages

 

Frequently Used Settings

Wi-Fi

Apps>Settings>Wi-Fi (Under Wireless & Networks)>Slide to enable or disable Wi-Fi

Data

Apps>Settings>Data Usage(Under Wireless & Networks)>Tap Ting or T-Mobile if Ting not available>Slide to enable or disable Cellular Data. 

Network Mode

Apps>Settings>More>Cellular networks>Cellular network settings

Roaming Settings

Apps>Settings>About phone (Under System)>Status>SIM status>Roaming>Sled to enable or disable Roaming

Device information

Apps>Settings>About phone (Under System)>Find information here about Android version, software version, and device model

Tap Status to find: device MDN, IMEI, ICCID, Wi-Fi Mac address and Battery information
