Completing activation for your ZTE Warp Elite (CDMA Only)

This guide is to cover completing connecting your ZTE Warp Elite to our CDMA network once it has been activated from your Ting account. If you haven't already activated a phone number have a look at our official Ting activation guide.

Connecting Your Phone to the Network

To install the SIM in your ZTE Warp Elite phone follow these steps:

  1. To insert or remove the SIM card, place the SIM card removal tool into the hole next to the SIM card cover and push it in. The SIM card tray will push out slightly
  2. Gently remove the SIM card tray from the SIM card slot
  3. To insert the SIM card, place the SIM card into the SIM card tray, matching the angled corner in the SIM card with the matching area in the SIM card tray. 
  4. Take the SIM card tray, insert it into the SIM card slot and push until it clicks into place.

In our finding your SIM Card guide, we note that the CDMA SIM used is the Ting nano SIM type C6. To connect your phone to the network, we need to perform a Carrier Reset, Profile and PRL update. These steps will activate your phone when done in a CDMA coverage area.

Carrier Reset

  1. From the home screen, tap the Phone icon and open the dialer
  2. Dial ##72786#
  3. Tap YES and the device will restart and initiate Hands-Free Activation
  4. After the device restarts, it will automatically perform Hands-Free Activation and then update the PRL
  5. Once the activation is done tap OK
  6. The phone will restart and connect

 PRL Update

  1. Enter Settings by tapping the icon on the home screen swipe down bar or via apps
  2. Scroll to the System section and tap System Update
  3. Tap Update PRL
  4. The phone will search and update - Once complete tap OK

 Profile Update

  1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon
  2. Scroll to and tap Settings
  3. Scroll to and tap System updates
  4. Tap Update Profile
  5. The phone will search and update - Once complete tap OK

Troubleshooting

Once done running the steps above, test your connection and ensure it is working. Here are some troubleshooting guides just in case you have any trouble with connecting calls, texting or data.

If you have tried all the options and are still having problems, please get in touch. If all troubleshooting fails, we may ask that you back up the phone to run a factory reset. If needed, here are steps to do so. Please ensure that you have the login credentials for the Google account used on the phone or have disabled Device Protection to ensure you can access the phone once it resets.

Hardware Factory Reset

  1. With the device turned off, press and hold the Volume down key. 
  2. With the Volume down key held down, press and hold the Power key. Release both keys when the ZTE logo appears. The previous Google username and password will be required to set up this device if you do not disable Device Protection.
  3. On the Android system recovery, use the Volume down key to scroll to wipe data/factory reset
  4. With wipe data/factory reset highlighted, press the Power key
  5. Press the Volume down key to scroll to Yes -- delete all user data. With Yes -- delete all user data highlighted, press the Power key
  6. Once the wipe is complete, with reboot system now highlighted, press the Power key
  7. The device will restart

 Factory Reset From Settings

  1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon
  2. Tap Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset
  3. Read the warning and tap RESET PHONE. The option Erase SD card will display if a memory card is inserted. Tap to check or uncheck Erase SD card as preferred. If checked, this action will delete all data on the memory card.
  4. If a Pattern, PIN or Password was previously set up, draw the correct Pattern or enter the correct PIN or Password, then tap NEXT
  5. Read the warning and tap ERASE EVERYTHING
  6. The handset will completely reset and restart
