Completing activation on the CDMA network

Once a number has been assigned or ported to Ting, restart or power on your Alcatel Go Flip and the activation should begin automatically. If not, please proceed to the steps below:

Carrier Reset

  1. From the home screen, press the Call key.
  2. Press Dialer and dial ##72786#
  3. Press Yes and the device will restart and initiate Hands-Free Activation.
  4. After the device restarts, it will automatically perform Hands-Free Activation and then update the PRL.
  5. When finished, press the Ok key. The phone will power off and restart.
  6. The phone will check for any Firmware updates, if a firmware update is found, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it, otherwise press Ok.
  7. The phone will restart and connect to the network

The carrier reset should automatically take care of the activation for voice, text messaging and data, as well as an update to the PRL (roaming lists) and firmware—if applicable. If dialing the code above does not appear to work, please move on to the manual steps below.

Profile Update

  1. From the home screen, press the Ok key.
  2. Scroll to Settings and press the Ok key.
  3. Scroll to the Device tab, then select System Updates and press the Ok key.
  4. Select Update Profile, then press the Ok key.
  5. The device will update the data profile

PRL Update

  1. From the home screen, press the Ok key.
  2. Scroll to Settings and press the Ok key.
  3. Scroll to the Device tab, then select System Updates and press the Ok key.
  4. Select Update PRL, then press the Ok key.
  5. The device will begin a PRL update.

The firmware update is the last step in the activation process. Once it's been updated, or you got the message that there was no update available, you can go ahead and place a test call and perform a search in your mobile browser to confirm that the voice and data services are working.
