Apple ID is what you will use to log into all your Apple services. You can use it on multiple Apple Devices and, through the magic of iCloud, you will be able to share pictures, contacts, and items purchased through iTunes across all Apple devices.
If you think you have had an apple ID in the past, but you aren't sure, you can check for it through Apple's website.
If you need to get an Apple ID there are two ways that you can go about it. The easiest way is through the Apple website.
To set up the through an iOS device:

1. Tap on the prompt to Sign in to your iPhone
2.If you don't have an apple ID, tap on the prompt that you don't have one or have forgotten your Apple ID. this will open a pop-up where you can select Create Apple ID.
From this point on, you will be walked through the process to create an Apple ID. You will be asked to enter the following information.
- Your date of birth.
- Your email address. (If you do not have one, you will be able to get one through the creation process)
- A strong password
- Three security questions
