Find My iOS Device IMEI or MEID

Follow

Last updated by Isabel M

When you're ready to bring your iPhone or iPad to Ting, you'll need your phone's IMEI or MEID. If you're having trouble activating your device, it's also a good idea to confirm this. To find this information on your phone, go to:

Settings > General > About > IMEI or MEID

If you're bringing over a CDMA iPhone, then you'll need the MEID and you'll want to also note your ICC ID for LTE devices.

If you're bringing over a GSM iPhone, then you'll need the IMEI.

Hey there Jillian, from what we can see based on the screen shots and the devices we have on hand the IMEI is the MEID with a few spaces and extra digit on the end. Remove those spaces and extra digit and submit that.

I have a Sprint iPhone 4S that I will have had for 2 years in February. 2014. I would like to have a Ting account but when submitting my MEID number I am told that it is invalid but it is not. I am looking at it in my settings and I have copied it correctly.

Every time I enter my MEID, the form just returns "Oops! Please try again."

    Hi Sean,

It would be best for you to try again later. We are working on getting that resolved as soon as possible.

Same here. Checked the MEID on the iPhone 4s from Sprint on several other websites and it is clean. Was really hoping to set up my wife's phone tonight since her other option isn't working! Help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem with my iphone 4s. It just says "Oops! Try again!" I called in for help and they said to try again in the morning, but it is still the same thing. Do you know when they will have the problem resolved?

My AT&T iphone 4 is not supported yet =-<

    Hey Jeff,

AT&T and Sprint use different cellular technologies. AT&T require there the phone to use a SIM card, Sprint phone's do not. Right now there is no support offered by Ting for GSM phones and we are unsure if there will ever be.

Same issues when I try to bring over my Sprint iPhone 4 (model A1349) - just get an error that its a bad ESN when I enter the MEID - is it because I still have my phone active with Sprint?

    Hi Sue,

We are only able to activate inactive devices as part of our beta program, that is probably why you are running into an error. I see that Kurtis has been helping you on your activation, you are in good hands!

I just walked through the activation process on one of our iPhone 4s. It went smoothly. The second 4s comes up with an invalid meid number. I checked it through another website and it comes up good. Please help. Thanks!

Several statements made about bringing in the phone to Ting. Where are you located? I'm outside of San Antonio, TX. I can't make it to the Starbucks in South Central.

Hi, I also went looking for an ESN/MEID number and could only find an ICCID and IMEI. So I then tried typing in the IMEI number without the extra digit on the end as well as no spaces, what Sam Coloumbe suggested, but I'm still having no luck. Any other suggestions? I'd really like to switch over my 4s but can't seem to figure it out. My iphone is currently active, so would I need to deactivate it first before I'm able to transfer? And would that effect Ting's ability to help pay for my ETF? AT&T is also my carrier. I don't know how much that affects the process if any. Anywho, thanks for the help yall!

    Hi Mathew,

It sounds like you are trying to add an AT&T device to Ting (GSM devices do not list an MEID, only an IMEI). We can only activate inactive Sprint devices as part of our beta program. You can find a list of all of the devices we support for BYOD here. In regards to our ETF relief promo, you are eligible for the credit if you transfer your number from AT&T to us. You can find more info about that promo here. Feel free to contact our support team if you need any additional help.

Hello Felipe. Recently I used a to iphone imei checker website to check my imei code. I got all those details from them with just a single click. But your guide helped me to find my imei code. Thank you, you're the best!

Hi Renny, I just find my imei on my iPhone 6, but my device is locked to AT&T. I found a website that can unlock my device. But I need your help to confirm if I can use this website to unlock my AT&T iPhone 6 http://www.unlockboot.com/2014/11/unlock-at-iphone-6-6-5-5c-5s-4-4s-by.html

Thanks in advance for your time & reply.

AT&T should unlock your phone. If they will not do that, do not expect Ting to recommend any third party unlocking since that is currently a grey area legally.
