The Refer-A-Friend program is our way of thanking the person who referred you to Ting and adding some icing on the cake for you.

When your friend or family member was telling you about Ting, chances are they gave you a referral link and you're probably wondering what to do with it.

What is a referral link?

A referral link is a special link that, when used, automatically applies a discount to the purchase of your new device or a credit to your account. It also applies a credit to the account of the person who referred you to Ting.

What does a referral link look like?

A referral link looks like this:

What does a referral link look like?

How do I use a referral link?

When you're ready to get started, rather than coming directly to ting.com, use your referral link instead. This will bring you to the site, automatically apply your credit and you'll see a banner at the top of the page confirming that.

How do I use a referral link?

How does the referral link work?

When you use the link, the system automatically applies a discount of $25 to the purchase of your new device or $25 in credit to your account if you purchase a used/refurbished device or bring your own. Your friend will get their credit when you activate that device.

What if I change my mind about signing up right now?

No problem! Just come back later, but use your referral link to come back to the site when you're ready.

Can I use a referral link for my second device?

No. Referral credits only apply to the first device on your account.

I just signed up and forgot to use my friend's referral link. What do I do?

We can help you out with that. Just get in touch with us. Make sure you have your friend's referral link or the email address they use with Ting handy so we can apply the credits for you.

My friend told me about Ting, but didn't give me a referral link.

Your friend can find their link in the Referrals section of their account online. Have them go ahead and e-mail it to you.

    Hey Rosetta!

The credit automatically counts towards your bills! You'll notice the difference in how much you pay at the end of the cycle.

when someone uses my referral link, how long does it take for the credit to show up in my account?

nevermind, i found the answer on another page.. looks like they have to have a bill debited from their credit card first, then ill get the referral credit.

Where can I find this link? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

    Hi Irvin,

You can find your own referral link by signing into your Ting account at Ting.com. Once you are signed in, click on referrals and you should see your unique referral link that you can use to refer your friends/family.

Hi, when you refer someone, do they see your full name, number, etc? What exactly do they see in the whole process.

  • Avatar
    Renny M

    Hi Mike,

People who use your referral link aren't shown your personal information if they click on the link. All that they will see is our website with a message stating that they are going to receive a discount to their services or purchase.

The referral message specifically mentions Sprint phones, will someone using my code get credit for bringing an existing gsm phone?

  • Avatar
    Bruce Osborne

    Bradley,

They will get credit if it is a new Ting account or the first phone added to the account.

Some people have created an account to post here in the forums and move their phones to Ting later.

Would it be correct to describe to the friend that using the referral link allows them, "to get an immediate free $25 sign-up bonus credit to try the service at no risk?"

I was referred by a friend and we did not receive the bonus credit.
I sign up with Ting on Friday, April 26th and his referral link/number is ze39hq3o78a. Can you let me know if my friend received his credit.
