I'm confused.  I'm about to switch to Ting from Sprint.  My wife has an iphone 4s she is currently using on Sprint.  Can I move that device over and port over her number?  What's the proper procedure for this?

Hi Ron!  Yes, you can bring her phone and her number over.  You'd add the phone in Device Settings in your Ting account using the phone's MEID, and then the system will ask what you want to do about a phone number.  You'd choose the option to bring over a current number, and fill out the form (with your Sprint account number and PIN) to bring over the number.

Does it really take up to 24 hours to port numbers over from Sprint to Ting?

I have more phones to bring over but want to make sure the first ones are successful. I started around 1:30PM MST on 10/2 and from others experience it seems like it should have been done by now.

    Hey Matthew,

I took a look into your account and it looks like Sprint haven't yet responded to the transfer requests. I'd recommend getting in touch with them and have them put through a response so that we can get your numbers over to Ting.

I had a 4s from SPrint and wanted to switch over to Ting.  I followed all the activation instructions but when I go to make a call it won't let me and it cuts me off and tells me to contact customer service.  I've restarted the phone a few times.  I can send texts and I can get on the web but only through WiFi.  Help!

BYOD says my new phone is active, but it doesn't work. Now my old phone doesn't work either. I need help immediately, but there's no response to my email contact. Sign In page here pops up but I can't enter text into fields, nor can I click on "activate with Amazon" (nothing works) -- Mac OS 10.6.8 / Firefox 34. This sucks.

"Connect to a WiFi Network" -- what does that mean? iPhone 4s "Settings" shows I am connected to a local WiFi network but the phone doesn't allow me to connect to the internet. My phone is not activated.

Where is Chat accessible? I don't see any link to it on the Help pages.

The chat window appears on the Shop page.  Shows up for me on the bottom right of the screen.  https://ting.com/shop

I tried to activate a verizon IPhone 5 on 2/16.   The phone MEID seems to pass the hardware compatibility check.  But after the I entered the new SIM card from Ting,  I got the message that the activation failed because my "device is not in good financial standing".   I got my phone from Verizon, finished my contract, and never activated on any Sprint network.   I am surprised to see that.  I called Ting's support who told me that this is probably due to a bug in Sprint as they might have mis-categorized non-sprint phones.   Ting's support is submitting an unlock request to Sprint to remove my IPhone from their blocked list.   This may take 24 to 48 hours.

Trying to set up an Iphone that was on H2O wireless previously and it won't allow me to identify the device at the confirmation point, but did say it would work on ting. I get the same error and it kicks me back to the start of the process, any help?

H2O uses AT&T's network. Is the phone SIM unlocked for domestic use? I assume you are trying to use the phone on the Ting GSM network.

Assuming you already have your Ting X1 SIM, choose the "Activate menu after logging into the Ting site. Things should be rather straightforward from there.

Do you mean it does not accept the IMEI of the phone? What sort if error do you get? The financial standing check is only for Ting CDMA, I believe. You should be saying the oone is from :Elsewhere".

If you still keep getting the error, call, email. or chat with Ting support. Unlike some other carriers, they are actually helpful.
