Completing Activation for Your Samsung Galaxy Tablet (CDMA Only)

These instructions are specifically for Samsung Galaxy tablets. Instructions for other types of Samsung devices can be found here.

The first thing you will need to do is ensure that 3G and LTE data (if supported), voice, and text messaging are all working properly on your device. To do this, a Carrier Wipe, and Profile & PRL update are required. Please follow the steps below.

For a number of these updates you'll need your Master Subsidy Lock or MSL--this is a six-digit code provided to you by Ting in your activation email; you can also find this information in Device Settings in your Ting account online.

 

1. Carrier Wipe

  1. Tap the Menu key or Apps
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Activate this device
  4. Tap the Menu key
  5. Select Reset Cellular Data
  6. Tap Reset
  7. Your device will restart

2. Profile Update

  1. Tap the Menu key or Apps
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap System Update
  4. Select Update Profile
  5. Tap OK when complete

3. PRL Update

  1. Tap the Menu key or Apps
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap System Update
  4. Select Update PRL
  5. Tap OK when complete
