Picture & Video Messaging Troubleshooting for iPhones Updating to iOS 10 (GSM Only)

Updating to iOS 10? Here's what you need to know:

What's Going On:

We've noticed that users who have updated their GSM iPhones to iOS 10 have had their MMS APN settings erased after the device has completed the update.  As a result, picture messaging via MMS no longer functions.

The Solution:

If you are updating your GSM iPhone to iOS 10, you will need to re-enter the MMS APN settings after the update to ensure picture message functionality.

this did not help our service. we still only have one bar under "ting" carrier vs. "sprint" like our other three phones have with ting

Hi Melinda, do you find that your GSM phone has a weak signal everywhere or only in your home location? Does the signal change or get stronger when you're moving about town?

My son experiences this everywhere he goes School, home, pretty much everywhere he gets one bar of service So he does not get Internet outside of the home where he has Wi-Fi all the time Home service I have even seen is only one bar when all of us have three or more

I did this step this last weekend. Already. No change. I have a spare ting Sim card on hand so I try installing it?

    Hey Melinda,

I see that Brian sent you an email earlier today asking for some specifics about your area/account, did you receive that at all?

I tried Brian's suggestion this weekend. Before he wrote this. It didn't help. I'm wondering if a new SIM card would help ?

It is possible that a new sim card would work, but we would want to go through all possible troubleshooting with you on the account level. To do that we would need to move to a more private conversation since we would be getting into account specifics.

You should have an email in your inbox from Brian that was sent today about checking the services in your area, if you want to reply back to that with the details he's looking for we can get working on a solution for you.

My son doesn't get good service any where. He says it's one bar in our house (and I have verified this). This weekend he was at my friends house using their wifi. He didn't get any of my texts. Four blocks away. I chewed him out but when I saw his phone and tested it (without his knowledge) I was in agreement. His "ting" service is null. Our three phones say "sprint" as top left
Hand carrier on the phones. His says ting and it truly is terrible service. I'm not pleased at all. Am I to assume new SIM card would also pride him With Ting service?

The other 3 phones on your account are on the CDMA network, while his is on the GSM network. This is part of the difference that you are seeing.

To troubleshoot this, we need to go into a more private discussion, right now you are posting on a forum for anyone to view and we can not go into account specific details here. Brian sent an email to you at your netzero account, you'll want to check that email and reply to it so that we can get this sorted out for you.

Replying here any further will not help to resolve the issue.
