A fiber cut on one Ting's upstream connections forced our traffic to a backup link through our transit provider in Ashburn, VA. This was a recently provisioned circuit that replaced an older, slower circuit. It was incorrectly configured to accept our traffic but drop it at their transit points. Essentially it was functioning as a peer and not transit.
We've reviewed the situation with our partners and our staff and believe that we've taken all steps necessary to prevent this from happening again. We're very sorry for the inconvenience that this caused for you, your staff, family and customers and we will work harder to make sure you get a great experience with Ting Internet in the future.
