Ting will not sell a phone to me

I have tried to buy a phone from Ting 5 days in row now, but the system online will not let me. Every time I try to buy a phone, it asks for my address then tells me that Ting does have coverage in my area but my phone is not compatible. I told ting representatives about this and they said it will be fixed soon, but it is not fixed. They tell me the only way to buy a phone from them is on their website. I will only become a Ting customer if I can buy a phone I KNOW will work with Ting, so I want to buy one from Ting.

  • Hi Travis!

We're sorry to know that! If you are seeing that error message then it is due to the coverage in the area not being strong enough to use with the bands the device has. If you are certain that this is an error and there is coverage in the area then you can bypass the coverage address check by entering a different address. You will be given the option to set up a shipping address after that. Although we do not recommend that since the original message was that there is no coverage there. Feel free to reach out to our support team should you have any other questions!

  • The message is NOT that there is no coverage at my address! It says:

"You might need to read this twice...

Ting Mobile has network coverage in your area but your phone is not compatible. We can help. Give us a call and we’ll be happy to work with you to find a solution."

So does this mean that Ting has coverage in my area, but does not sell phones that will work with that coverage in my area? Ting has 20 different phones on their website; how can it be that NONE of them are compatible with the "network coverage" that Ting says it has in my area? And by the way, MY phone (the phone I have now, from Tracfone and in use with Tracfone service) has NOTHING to do with it. I did not give Ting ANY info about my current phone. I was trying to buy a phone from Ting. The 2 Ting representatives I spoke with by phone told me this is an error with their website and it will be fixed. The "solution" they gave me was to wait for the fix. It still has not happened.

  • Hi Travis!

I won't know exactly why you received that message but I will look into it. I've sent you an e-mail linked to the previous chat you had with our team to get a bit more information from you in order to investigate this further.
