Here we go with the text messages again

I had trouble with text messages before, both sending and receiving. Waving the Ting magic wand over the phone didn't help, Dinkin' with the settings didn't help much, and then it seemed to resolve itself. Of course this was after complaining.

We're at it again. Some texts are able to be sent. Most don't go through. But a follow-up phone call does. Many times, I get a bunch of texts that are sent to me days after they were sent.

I love the rates, but that doesn't do much good if basic communications don't function. I have an iPhone 4. I don't ask much of the service. I pretty much just use my phone for calls and texts. So when that doesn't work....

  • Hey Michael!

    Could you make sure your phone is connected to WiFi and enter in ##873283# into the dialing pad of the device and then press call? This should start a service update on the phone and complete. Once that happens, could you turn the phone off and back on then try sending a text message? This should resolve the issue you are having receiving/sending texts.

    Is this something I'll have to do every time there's a problem? It happens pretty frequently and just resolves itself after a day or two. That's when I get a flood of texts that have backed up over a period of time. I just need it to work without having to jump through hoops all the time

  • If you find that your service is being a bit slow and texts are not working properly.. it's something that I would suggest keeping handy. That service update code will usually resolve most issues you are having with an iPhone on the CDMA network
