Samsung Galaxy S7 Duos SM-G930FD SM-G930F-DS-32GB-SLV
Answered

The Samsung S7 Duos (SM-G930F-DS-32GB-SLV) supports dual SIMs and the specs indicate it should work with both Sprint and T-Mobile. Can you confirm that I can use this phone with both Sprint and T-Mobile? Can you also comment how the dual SIM feature would work with Ting if I used a SIM card for both carriers that you support?

  • Hey Scott,

I've just been doing some research on that model of phone (Samsung S7 Duos) and it appears to be a GSM only phone as it doesn't have the hardware for voice and text through on CDMA (it has some of the LTE bands that Sprint uses).  So you would just be able to activate that device on Ting GSM using our GSM SIM card.

As far as dual sim devices go, if you have a device that is compatible with both CDMA and GSM and wanted to be able to use both networks on the same phone at any given time, you would need a separate phone number for each network. This would count as 2 lines on your Ting account (so 2 $6/month line fees).

    Hope that helps!

  • It sounds like I want the SM-G930P which also says it supports GSM. Can you confirm if these GSM bands will work for T-Mobile so I can rely on both services as you describe?

  • Yup, that model would work with our GSM service as long as it's unlocked.

For reference, you can see the bands our GSM service runs on by going here
