wifi calling iphone GSM

CONFUSED??? i contacted your CS today interested in Tings service as a new customer and made it known that 1. i have Iphone se  2. my provider is Tmobile  3. i need wi calling as network coverage is bad in my area!

i was told by the CS rep that YES wifi calling would  work for me with my iphone se?!  I am now reading tons of posts as well as tings own FYI page that states you guys do not have wifi calling??!  this is a deal breaker for me! this is my primary phone and i need wifi calling that should have been told to me upfront!

  • Hey Melissa,

WiFi calling is available on our GSM network for select Android, Blackberry and Windows devices. Unfortunately this means that you won't be able to use WiFi calling on your current phone. You can check out our WiFi calling help page by going here.

    Hope that helps!

  • I do apologize for any miscommunication given; it was definitely not intentional. Hopefully this will be a feature that Ting can offer for iPhones on our GSM network in the future, as I know it is highly requested, but cannot be offered at the moment.

  • I had the same problem - a support person told me that if I already used T-Mobile and had wifi calling, it would work when I switched to Ting. After buying a SIM card, I checked with another person at Ting, and they said ...Nope, not so much.

I would guess that this is more of a licensing deal with T-Mobile, but Apple has sold over a billion (with a "B") iPhones, and the number one issue every cellphone user deals with is bad connections. With a great pricing model that Ting has, I have to think iPhone users would represent a HUGE market to tap.

Please get this resolved, Ting! I will switch the day that you make this happen!  For now, stuck with an overpriced T-Mobile plan that would cost me $40 per month less with Ting.
