Sprint $90 Unlimited Plan

Sprint now has an unlimited data plan and 5 devices for $90/mo. With two teenagers I am now paying upwards of $100/mo for 4 lines with Ting. Ting has been great, but is there any reason I should stay given the price disparity? Am I missing a gotcha with Sprint's new pricing?

  • It jumps to $190 after a year. The video is 480p , music is limited to 500kbps and I believe the gaming is capped. If you can live with that, then it's a great deal for 1 year.

  • I can't say that Ting is good for anything but a line for Grandma and Grandpa.  You never get phone upgrades and the data is astrnomically high priced.  I was actually way happied with elderly I have to provide for when they were on Virgin Mobile.

  • In addition to what Randy said (jumps to $190 after 1 year), you're not able to bring certain phones over.  I have two iPhone 5S, an iPhone 6 and an iPhone 7.  I stopped into a Sprint store and asked about BYOD for all my devices.  The rep told me they would not bring the 5S because they were "too old".  Seems strange to me, i plan to call their 800# to verify.

My plan was to jump on that deal for the year, then see what rates are like in a year.  If they don't have something cheaper than $190, you can always go back to Ting.
