Apple System Updates on i5c

The Apple operating system updates continue to wipe out my MMS capability by removing the mms proxy website.

I have reentered this 39 digit website address so many times,  that I am going get rid of my Apple phone and get an android. It is a total nuisance. Ting is great, but not with this particular phone.  Plus Apple has nothing on the Google phones anymore, they have passed them up in phone connectivity, cameras, all kinds of things. Good bye Apple.

  • I found your post interesting, especially I was also in the process of posting something to the Ting forum about the loss of APN settings on the iPhone. https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115006042167-iPhone-5-APN-settings-keep-getting-dropped-lost

And I agree that the problem is intolerable.  Are you sure that the Apple updates cause the problem? My relative, the iPhone user, is not running updates inthough the problem does seem to coincide with their availability.

  • This same thing happens with my wife's iphone 6 using the GSM network. The last two IOS updates have erased that clunky URL that needs to be manually entered in order to use MMS messaging.

I have an iphone 5 using the CDMA network, which does not require those APN settings. So, my phone has updated without issues.
