Verizon as a CDMA Provider

I just wanted to voice a request for Ting to pickup Verizon as a CDMA provider option. Sprint is amazing where it works. Unfortunatally it works almost exclusivly in large citys and along highways. Leave those areas like rural maine and you get nothing. Where I work is a total deadzone but 3 miles East, West, Or South and its 5 bars of 4G LTE. It has forced me to move to Total Wireless. Which is Tracfone who I hate. Horrible service. I would come back to ting and push it to everyone I know if you used Verizon as a provider. I even know a local cell phone repair shop that would love to sell your service if it was reliable in the area.

Hopefully some other Rural People can also post requests here to show how much more business you could get with verizon.

  • Hi Joseph, sorry to hear that the coverage in the area wasn't working. We are going to miss you as a customer because you really seem passionate about our services. I have to let you know that there are no plans to switch our CDMA provider at the moment. This would be a big thing for us and would be something that would be thought out for a long time.

I'm sorry we can't be your service provider, hopefully in the future coverage from Sprint will grow in the area and there will be an opportunity for you come back to us. Have a great rest of the day and thanks for giving us a try Joseph!

  • A few carriers ago, I was a Verizon user (well before I got my first smart phone) and REALLY liked their service/coverage.

Sprint is not horrible around here, but Verizon is better in my area than Sprint (IMHO).

But I really like the lower costs of services like Ting, so if I could get Ting AND Verizon backbone coverage, that would be REALLY cool.

  • We do use Verizon as a roaming partner, Michael.

If you have a CDMA phone and there is no Sprint coverage strong enough to get to your phone, the roaming coverage automatically kicks in for talk and text.
