Defect/Bug: Ting Notifications / Alerts "EXCEEDS" Sort Wrong, Correct = Order By Type, Number

https://ting.com/account/all_alerts

Defect in Ting Notifications / Alerts column "Exceeds" Sort Order is sorting on "number" only, rather than "type" AND THEN BY "number".

There is limited value in returning order by number when you want to know by type first.

  • Hey Lars, thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you click the column titled When It should reorder your usage alerts to type rather than number. If you want to go back to numerical order you can click Exceeds again. Please let me know if this helps and if not we'll take further steps to get this resolved. In any case, we agree that the Exceeds column should be ordered the same way as the When column so we'll be bringing this up at our next feature request meeting to try and get a better idea as to why it's not working properly.

  • Frankly, I don't understand what you are saying. I've developed software for a couple of decades at all levels and I don't get the rational on the column sorting methodology. At a minimum it isn't standard on UI and the UX isn't there. I spent way, way too long trying to add and organize 8-10 alerts. In my opinion the correction would take less than 30 seconds to code, and 5 minutes to document.

  • Hey Lars, to clarify, we see that the organization options on the usage alerts can be a little confusing and we hear your concerns regarding them but it'll take some deliberation on our end before we actually make any changes. I can appreciate that your career has given you keen insight into how things should work but in the case of our front end, we'll require more time before we make any adjustments. With that said, I promise It will be a topic of discussion going forward so we'll keep you updated.
