Hi!
Problem: I want to protect my Ting number from being taken over by a Bad Person.
Solution: Ting offers 2-factor authentication via email or app. Someone trying to change account details would need access to either my email or my Ting website account.
Problem: Sometimes email or phone isn't available, or the Bad Person may have already gotten into my email. Other apps like my bank only support 2-factor authentication via text message, so I really, really need my Ting number to be safe and protected. I need 2-factor authentication that doesn't rely on something that could be compromised, like my email or my Ting website password.
Solution: Ting adds support for the Universal 2-Factor (U2F) standard, as implemented by devices like Yubikey. This way, I can log on to my Ting account only when I enter my Ting account password and have my hardware-based U2F key in hand.
Thank you Ting!

Damon,
This is an interesting proposition, and one I can absolutely bring to our Features Request team the next time they meet. If there's enough demand for hardware 2FA implementations, there's a better chance of getting it added. If you know other Ting customers who want a hardware 2FA option, have them comment here in support.
Also would like to see this. Have set up 2-factor with app/Yubikey, But would prefer something U2F standard for more options for a hardware token that doesn't need an app/software.
Oh, hardware 2FA. I was thinking of software 2FA. I'd delete my post, but it appears that I can only edit it :)
I strongly second the request for FIDO U2F support.
I would also like to request that Ting impliment FIDO2.
I feel this is increasingly important since ThreatFabric has documented the Cerberus Banking Trojan targeting Google Authenticator credentials.
The added security of using a dedicated hardware device would make me feel more comfortable.
