I had some problems with my LG Optimus S and was sent another one as a replacement. What is the procedure for deactivating my first phone and activating the replacement?
Last week I dropped my feature phone and ordered a replacement smartphone. Since the emails about the new phone didn't mention a replacement procedure, I figured the process would be self-evident in the Dashboard. Unfortunately, it looks like there's no way to do this. Support closed about 3 hours before I got home (I'm in California), so it looks like I'm stuck.
It should be something you can do first thing in the morning, but you're right, it would be nice to have the ability to activate a replacement phone on an existing Ting line through the dashboard.
Once I called, though, everything was squared away in minutes. Get that puppy charged up and ready to rumble--you can always get wifi up and running in the meantime.
Wait. There's no simple online procedure to associate a new phone to a current number? As someone who like to tinker with my phones, I keep a backup, just in case I don't have time to fix one.
All I've ever had to do before was go to the verizon site, and associate my spare phone to the number of the phone I bricked. But you're telling me I can't do that with ting... I hope that changes.

Yeah, it only allows activation on the website if you haven't already opened a ting account and activated a phone on the old number.

This is not currently possible from the Ting Dashboard, but it is something we plan on implementing in the future.
