On the dashboard I can click details and see a summary of usage by device. Then I can click a device and see the details. On the billing, I can only see the details. No device summary.
I added my 13 year old to our plan. I need to see a summary of her usage so that i can bill her when she doubles+ our data usage :) But I'd rather not have to add up each individual entry. The day before the bill closed, I *could* have gotten the summary that I need but I can't find it now on the closed bill.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the suggestion.
We're planning on making your monthly bill downloadable so you can manipulate the data in a spreadsheet like Excel if you have very specific analytic needs we don't currently support.
Alternate billing/dashboard XML presentations are:
monthly billing option to sort/filter by device instead of just date
a dashboard with data for the last year, but by default only shows the current month
Anyone needing more than 1 year can download it each year.
Thanks Jeff.
Right now we're offering downloadable .csv files for people looking to do more analysis on their usage.
I totally understand what you're looking for here and I'd like to see us adding something with a bit of a Google Analytics feel to it as some point. It's not a high priority right now but I expect it will come at some point, particularly as we add more businesses as customers.
I second this recommendation. Understand its not a high priority, but I ported over 6 lines and would rather save the 20min each month to parse the CSV and still doesn't provide the trend data other than total used per line per month, which should then provide an easy segway into billing per line.
Ken,
While the csv's are nice, they AREN'T what we want and need. We want a simple total for each bucket by device like we have on the dashboard.
I agree with Peter. It would be nice if the bill showed a breakdown of how many minutes, messages and megabytes for each device.
Paul Lair would also like to see a user by user bill view at the end of the month. He was kind enough to provide a template of how it should look.
Agree, and I love the sample detailed bill! I manage mine and my parents' account and I hate that I have to remember to look at the breakdown on the last day of the billing cycle because the information disappears. There needs to be some level of information between "this is the total cost for everyone this month" and "here is every phone call and text".
Any idea when this feature might be added?
I had a customer named Jay who had a similar request for change to the billing history. He'd like to see a graph of usage for each of minutes, texts, and MB data over the last year rather than per month.
Jennifer wrote in as well asking for this feature to be added to the bill that gets generated.
I love my service... My one issue is ..I wish there was an option where i could pay bill automatically. I log in, put in the card#, and its paid. I use a prepaid card. My cycle date is one day and it processes on another. Then my payment is "processing" and its always a different amount than what is given to me. Its a very confusing process.
One very simple thing that would help with this issue is if Ting would just show the totals of each of the usages (minutes, messages, Mbs) on a per-device basis for past billing periods. Each user could then determine how they wanted to divvy up their bill based on those usage totals per device. Just total at the end of the "Billing History" -> "Usage Details" breakdown, on a per-device basis.
C'mon, Ting, since there have been many, many requests during the last 2+ years for similar per-device billing info or totals, at least incorporate these subtotals as a quick fix to help in the short term. I hope you can at least make this simple "fix" a high priority to finally help this matter a bit. Thank you!
I agree with the guy from 2012!
It's really disappointing that this issue has gone ignored for almost 5 years. You already have a dashboard showing usage by device for the current billing period - what's so hard about displaying the same information for previous periods? And it seems like it would be almost trivially easy to break down the usage by device in the monthly PDF billing statement. Come on, Ting! I've got better things to do than to download and parse a CSV to get this basic information.
Hey Kaj, thanks for reaching out. This feature is one we are looking at but it's admittedly not a top priority. Our billing system would actually require quite a bit of reworking in order for this information to show up differently. I realize this isn't the most convenient but for the time being, we'll be dealing with these calculations on a case by case basis. That being said, we'll keep users posted if it is integrated in the future.
