Billing Cycle Change Capability

Hi all,

Some of your competitors are able to change the billing cycle upon request. For example, I am stuck on being billed on the 4th since ive joined ting on the 4th, without the ability to move to the first of the month. I'd prefer the first because i can use ICS 4.0 to help manage the data limits more granularly and faster than ting can respond, but only if it aligns with the first of the month (granted, theres probably an app out there that can bypass that, but its the case in point). My request would be that these dates can be modified (within reason, and probably a set limit on number of times a year, like 1) accordingly.

  • We've had a few requests fro this now so I'll add it to our list of possible future projects. No promises though! :)

  • Add me in as someone who would like to change their billing date. October is usually when I need to text the most, and I would prefer to only have a higher bill for one month, rather than two. If we can't pick any calendar day we want, maybe there is a way to change it to having the options of the 1st or the 15th?

  • Hey Diane!

We always look into ways to try and help our customers, and this is one thing that we, as Ken advised, have on our list of potentials, however there is no guarantee that a change will occur any time soon.

  • i have no problem paying my bills, however im on social security.im able to pay on the 3rrd of each month. period.if you bill me on any other day their will be no funds.it is imparitive  that my billing date be due on the 3rd!of each month!otherwise i forsee excessive charges and problems between us that can be avoided with some old fashioned common sense.whats your take on this?

  • Hi Franklin.  The billing date is set when the first Ting device is activated. We typically capture funds 3-5 days after the billing date (although closer to 5).

Changing the billing date has already been a requested feature, but there are no plans in our current roadmap to implement this right now.

  • Can we cancel and reactivate to move our due date?  What kind of gap would that cause?

  • Hi Jenna, if you cancelled your account, you would lose your number(s).  We don't recommend doing this, and it also will not change your billing date!  If you have any questions, please send us an email and we'll be glad to help.

  • I would like to request this also. My billing date in in the middle of the month and I only get paid at the beginning of the month. It was suggested I just hold the money till the middle but as the bill is never the same amount (for me at least) it makes it very hard. I have to live with only having a phone for the first half of each month. As it gets turned off in the middle. I wish it can be moved to the beginning so I will not have to be without needed service half of every month.

  • It's completely idiotic to give us "No Promises" when it's something all other companies do (setting a billing date as specified by the customer) .

You will not be paid in time, month after month, and continue threatening our services each and every month via automated messages?

This ain't savvy, and it won't fly with me.

I will switch services if you don't fix this stupid problem within a week.

  • Why no word from Ting for over two years? It means they don't care about their customers or their concerns. This isn't exatly a hard problem to fix you just change a number in a file and the computer adds up the one month (or half month in my case) difference for the one month to catch up. You don't give this option for none other reason than you don't want to give this option. This is such BS. I have stayed with Ting even after I have found cheaper companies. But if this isn't looked into I will have to leave.
