Credit Balance Display

As I'm someone with a large balance of credit on my account, I think having a running balance display somewhere on the account dashboard could be useful for those who might have credits on the system. I understand that the amount would really only change once or twice a month(depending on usage and any upcharges/downcharges), but seeing my credit balance seems just to be something that would be reassuring. That is in my case, I have nearly $250 of promotional and referral credit on my account, and so far, I'm on par of spending in the mid 20s per month of that credit for my actual usage. At this rate, that's nearly over a year of service and I've got several other people that are likely to be referrals. This way, I don't have to do the actual thinking and math on how much credit is left per month. Of course, I can call in to get the balance, but having it display just seems logical. - Colin

  • I'm wondering what you're looking for because what you're describing seems to be what I see when I log in to my dashboard.  I have some credit built up, and it shows the current balance, which is a large negative number because of the credits I have in my account.  See snapshot attached.

  • Yes, there is that display, and I did initially see it for the month where the majority of of my credits came in(I was able to take advantage of the ETF deal),. but once that cycle ended, the number reset(at least for me). For you, keep an eye on that line as it says your cycle ends in 3 days. I'm going to assume that you'll likely see what I saw and that negative balance number go away when it calculates the next month bill. You'll be like me and running with a large balance on the account, but it won't show anywhere. For example, I was just passed along with another $50 referral and my balance shows as attached. Although it says -$35 now, that it will reset  that line once my cycle ends. I estimate now that my actual balance credit is close to the $260 range. I've included an attachment of my current dashboard as well, as well as my billing sheet showing all the credits.. I know the credits are there an on my account, just having a running tally would be helpful.

  • This is actually being discussed as a feature request right now Colin. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Oh, I see what you mean.  I hadn't realized it would reset when the billing month changed.

  • Hi Marc. What you owe comes down to how much you use during the billing cycle (which ends on the same day every month, the 1st of the month for you, although we generally don't deduct the money from your credit card account until 2 or 3 days after the closing date). We tell you what you're likely to owe based on your usage so far in your Ting Dashboard, so you just need to log in there to see the total so far during the month. I hope that helps.
