Setting usage controls by time of day?

I'd like to be able to disable or enable usage of features by time of day. For example, I'd rather not have phones receiving texts from... for example 10pm to 6am.  The problem is largely related to kid's texting habits and the related interruptions.  I know... the simple answer is put phones away or turn off phones.  As some parents might understand, that is not as easy as it sounds.  Is a time of day usage control feasible?

Thank you.

  • Interesting suggestion Bill. We'll certainly take it into consideration, although I can't speak towards the feasibility of it at this point.

  • Many parents would love a feature like this! Anyone know of any apps that do the same?

  • This would be a huge win for me.  We activated the built in feature on the phone, but it doesn't allow you to get granular e.g. M-F only.  It just lets you block everything except certain address book entries between certain hours w/o a day specification.  So, it's a good try.. but needs more functionality.

  • This is currently in our maybe box. We're looking at this and a host of other parental controls. There's nothing concrete in the roadmap thus far. I'm marking this as "Not Planned," however it is on our radar.

  • If you're running Android, the free app Llama lets you set up sound profiles by time of day.  For example you could have a "normal" profile for 7am-10pm and a "quiet" profile for 10pm-7am.
