Questions before I sign up...

Is the $35 Activation fee per device or per account?

If I later choose to cancel my account will I be able to sell my device(s) to another Ting user or does EVERYONE have to buy a new phone regardless?

Do you sell any less expensive phones that are not smart phones? (Dad just makes a few calls per month and does not text or need internet... but would like to share voice minutes.)



  • Since I don't work for Ting I can't answer all of your questions, but I am able to answer part of it.

    Yes they do, there are two phones that aren't fully featured smart-phones. You have to scroll down a bit on the page but there you will find the Samsung Reclaim and the Samsung M360, which are both phones that are a bit more to the basic side of things, and cheap too!

    Sadly you will have to wait for a Ting representative to answer the other two questions, hope this helps.

  • Thank you Shawn. Actually I finally did scroll down and saw those phones but I appreciate you taking time to answer.

    I still have not been able to find anything on the other 2 questions though :(

    Yes, the activation fee is charged per device.

    Sure, you can sell your phone... after all you OWN it. We have customers who have upgraded and given their phones to friends who in turn have activated with Ting.

  • Cool... I just wanted to be sure one of your phones could be transferred to a new user. Didn't think it would be an issue but it doesn't hurt to ask.
