I'm finding my HTC, with wifi enabled, looses its session with my Linksys router at times but doesn't realize it. That is, it's not obvious the connection's lost until trying to use it for something - the phone thinks it has it (displays the wifi status icon, doesn't go to 3g). Bringing wifi back is a simple as stopping and starting wifi, so it gets a fresh connection. Anyone know of a helper app or method that would just deal with this, to avoid the need to manually stop and start wifi?
It's not that this same problem can't occur with our laptops. But it's far less often than with the phone.

Hi Whit... have you tried this: https://help.ting.com/entries/20813791-changing-the-wi-fi-sleep-policy ?
Yes Ben. This is with wifi sleep policy set to never.Thanks.
Haven't checked when its down if it's DHCP IP is being dropped on the phone or not.
There is a program called Advance Wifi Lock that will prevent this. My Samsung Galaxy SII was doing the same thing with the wifi sleep policy to never disconnect and it still would go to sleep and loose connection. This program keeps it from happening works great.
