If I activate my phone at the end of the month do I have to pay the full $6 fee for that month or is it pro-rated?
Could I set up the activation so that it starts working on April 1st?

From the way my account got set up your billing period starts when you activate the phone. Your first bill will include the activation fee and the $6.
Hi Jennifer, the $6 monthly fee for each device would be a prorated amount depending on when you activated.
Ooops.. I made a mistake. Your billing date starts when you activate your first device. So the full $6 would apply (for the entire month). It's when you decide to add a SECOND device that we would look at your billing date and prorate the $6 to coincide with your billing date.
Thanks!
How much does it cost to activate a new phone on ting?
If you buy a phone from them it is included in the price of phone. At least last I knew it was.
I just bought a note II and I want to know how much I have to pay upfront when I activate the phone. Do I pay the $35 plus the plan I chose or how does it work?
No activation fee: https://ting.com/blog/we-eliminated-the-35-activation-fee/
Hi Pat, To activate a phone with Ting you will pay upfront for the cost of the plan as well as a $6 charge for the active device. The $6 is a monthly fee that you pay per device however there is no $35 upfront fee when activating the Note II.
You can also choose all our XS ($0) plans when activating your device. This way you won't be charged upfront for the plan and will be bumped up based on your usage at the end of your billing period.
Thank you.
I activated my account, but when I turn on my phone it tries to activate at SPrint. This fails and the phone does not call out or recieve calls.

Hey Tim,
In order to activate you would need to have 3G data services turned on for your account as well as your device.
You'll also want to ensure that you're getting at least 2 bars (3 or more is recommended) of signal strength and you're in a Sprint coverage area that has data services. You can verify coverage at http://www.ting.com/coverage and change the option at the top of the map to "data" to view only the data services.
If you're still having issues, please drop us a line at help@ting.com with the email address that you used to sign up the account with and we'll get you up and running in no time.
hi. i have sufficient funds for paying the $6 fee to activate my phone and have checked several times through ADP's site and phone line but when i put in my information for my card it simply says "PuRSE error: Insufficient Funds. tx_id: 4627267". is there a way to fix this?
Hi Nicole, when a new card is added to our system we will place a $30 authorization to the card to verify it, and then request a release right away. We don't charge the $6 up front any more since we've switched to rates.
