Odd message flashing across screen in main site, not forums
Answered

On the main website, not the forums, when I click on a link (not always) I get a line of text that flashes on the screen but I finally managed to capture it with a printscreen.

"Browser Support  We want to make sure you have an outstanding Ting experience.  We are not able to deliver that with your current browser settings.  Please consider visiting us again using the laster version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera with JavaScript enabled."

The browser names are links and show up in blue.

I'm running Firefox 14.0.1 with JavaScript enabled but some options (the ones that show up under advanced) disabled.  I recently had a bout with some malware, but those options have never been enabled on my machine (popups, raise and lower windows, meddle with context menus).

It was a PITA to catch this.  If you're really trying to say this, then it needs to come up in a form that doesn't need this much effort to see what it says.

  • Hi Iris,

We have code on the website that alerts people to browsers we don't support. It's been happening with the development versions of Firefox, but it shouldn't appear with 14.0.1.

Thanks for mentioning it... I'll see if we can have that little annoyance corrected!
