After system update on lg optimus (sprint version) to 2.3.3, I'm getting error 67 profile update message but doesn't seem to work -just keeps coming back and sometimes if I push update button, tapping screen icons as well as pushing home row buttons stop working. Dismiss seems to allow the phone to work fine - I have text only plan and texts go out still. I have mobile data set to on and I am always connected to a wifi router that works with browser / play store etc. The problem is more of an annoyance than anything right now as it will pop up right in the middle of doing other things.
-complete message on screen:
Error code 67
Unable to establish wireless data connection. Please select update Profile to correct this problem. If the problem persists, please contact your mobile phone company. -Update profile- or -Dismiss- are the buttons

Hi Ben, I've just sent you an email about this. :)
Please get back to me if we suggestions don't take care of it for you.
@Ben, you aren't on "roam" when you are trying to update, are you?
I've got the same problem. I do believe I said yes to roaming and now error code 67.
I have the same issue sporadically. Iv'e tried hitting both both buttons and different times. Usually it stops bugging me. until the next time it happens. I am wondering if it has to do with me roaming and on wi-fi? A Ting rep did tell me, that I couldn't be roaming and have the phone update. Whenever I am at home, my phone is roaming.
Turning off data roaming on your device will almost undoubtedly get rid of this message.
If you're roaming, you can't access data, and keeping data roaming enabled will just keep your phone looking for something that isn't there - which could easily lead to error 67.
I am getting the same error. I don't have any roaming selected...
Donovan, I see you sent us an email about this as well. We'll reply to that as quickly as possible.
Hi,
I have a refurb lg marquee and the same problem. Data roaming is set to "off."
Thanks for any help.
Hey Darren, I just replied to your email.
In your case, error 67 is almost certainly related to your having blocked cellular data on your phone.
To get rid of error 67, you can either turn cell data back on, or disable network data on the phone too so it stops trying to access the network and giving you that error.
I awoke to this error this morning. I'm not exactly the most tech savvy guy out there...If someone could email me a step by step process as to what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it...that would be awesome! This error code, could it stop me from being able to text? I cannot text what so ever. I can call, I don't have my 3G symbol up or anything. I feel like an idiot here.
Hi Paul,
I've just sent you an email about this. Please take a look and let me know if you have any questions.
Rob, I am having the same issue, could you post your solutions to this forum please.
Hi Joseph,
Since each device has a different MSL these steps will vary but we're sending you an e-mail with your specific steps shortly!
My wife and I have this daily
Hi Tim, the reason you are experiencing trouble with data connections to update your profile is because you are located in an area where we don't have service, i.e. your phones are roaming and data services aren't available. If you need to update the profile, you can head just a little further into town and connect from there!
Hi, I am seeing this on all 4 devices I purchased recently. I have disabled mobile data on each phone from as we don't need it (nor do I want to incur the costs). Can you assist?
Hi John,
The Error 67 message would mean that your devices are having trouble connecting to the network or have not yet been fully activated. In order to make sure the device is connecting properly/ activated you will need to go through a profile update which requires a data connection however you can disable this service again once the devices are up and running. I have sent you an e-mail with the steps to update the profiles on your devices. Since data does need to be enabled in order to activate and complete system updates we do also provide a small grace for data usage for activations and updates each billing cycle that won't be visible in your usage.
Hello, LG Marquee user and when trying to access the hotspot capabilities, error 67 pops up. I have tried updating the profile and any other relevant (and irrelevant) parts of the phone. Any help would be appreciated.
Daniel, are you able to access data on the phone away from Wifi (as in general web browsing on the phone, for instance)?
Actually, scratch that. I just realized that you said you're on a Marquee. Those phones don't have tethering capabilities with Ting unfortunately.
I totally agree with Brennan Valenzuela -I had issues activating a phone and it even had 3 bars which is good for my area. I decided to drive down the road up on top of a hill and boom! Activated

I am having the same problem with an LG Optimus S. It was working just fine at home, but when I went elsewhere, I got the Error 67 code. I had turned off the data capability and I thought that was the problem, but the error came back later in a different location even after I re-enabled data. When I first got the phone, I updated the profile and prl as instructed. Help! I don't want to use data on this phone.
Hi Linda, thanks for emailing us. I see that you're speaking to Kevin. He'll be able to help activate your phone.
I am having this same problem when trying to turn on Wifi with data turned off on my phone.
I just connected my phone today and went into the Dashboard and saw that I used 101MB of data, I have not used the phone for anything but a profile update. I was not planning on using any data on this phone but already used 101MB, how is this possible. I'd like to turn on wifi as well, but now getting this error as I turned the data off.
Hey Richard, I would love to investigate this with you. I will send you an email and we can look into it.
Add me to the list of people having this problem with my LG Optimus S. It seems to occur when I go into an area with poor/no cell coverage, including into interior areas of buildings. I haven't tried to diagnose it further than that.
Hey there Gary, This error occurs where your phone cannot connect to the data network so it makes sense that the error would occur in areas with poor-no cell coverage. This particular error is dependent on many different factors so I will send you an email to go over the details and possible fixes.
