  • Did the port claim to have completed? Do a profile update on your phone (search for your phone model here on the site, or let us know what model it is here and we'll try to figure it out).

  • Was this phone active with a Ting number before now, or did you choose to port your number during activation on the site? What "state" is the phone listed as in the dashboard?

For the S3, profile update should be under Settings -> System Updates -> Update Profile.

  • Hi Brian. Your port has completed so your phone likely just needs a carrier reset. I'll send you an email shortly to discuss how to do this.

  • Megan,

You should call Ting support on Monday, assuming a Ting staffer does not respond here.

  • My phone number has been stuck at "porting" since Friday night as well.  Is something up with the Ting system?  I called the old carrier and they indicated they'd got the request and released the number.  Do I have to do anything to my receiving phone to help the port go through?

  • @Megan

No, a wireless number taking a week to port isn't normal. I went and called your carrier to see if there was anything we could due to speed this up, but since I couldn't reach anyone, I left them a detailed voice mail explaining the issue.

As it stands right now, everything is set for this to happen tomorrow night, but I'm hoping that the voice mail will speed things up too.

I'll send you an email about this as well, and if there's anything, please let me know.

    @Kyle

Everything is all set for your port to complete. Within roughly an hour-and-forty-five minutes from now the number should be active with us, and then all you'll have to is activate the phone itself to get it working.

I'll send you an email with steps on how to do that in just a minute.

  • Hi Randy,

I can see you spoke with Henry today, and your port has now completed. That's great!

If there's anything else, please let us know.

  • My number's been porting for about 13 hours now. Currently without service from Sprint or Ting, meaning I can't just haul off and call.

  • Thomas,

Ting support is also available by email at help@ting.com. They should be able to let you know what is happening with your port.

  • Just realized you do not have Saturday phone support. Bummer. I'm having trouble porting a number ("Unable to port this number to this device. Please contact support" error message."). I submitted a support ticket.

  • If you call or email Ting support, they can check. If you email help@ting.com, the system can automatically open a support ticket for you.

If you are porting from a land-line, ports usually take 5 days. Wireless ports are usually shorter.

  • Hi Jim,

Both your ports are landlines (VoiP is considered a landline) and they are due to complete by May 6th at the latest! If they haven't completed by then, please email us at help@ting.com or call us at 1-855-846-4389. We're open 8 am to 8 pm EST, M-F!

  • Hey all!  I am porting a HTC evo and only set it up yesterday afternoon but must have missed during the set up how long it takes to port and if I have to wait until the start of the work week.  Thank you any help!
