  • Hi Glen,

Currently the PINs are assigned by us, and there's no way for you to create one yourself.

I have gone ahead and sent you an email with all of that info, so I hope that helps.

  • Hey Brian, I see you spoke with Sarah and got your PIN from her. For simplicity's sake we use your MSL as your PIN. You can find that information by logging into your Ting account, clicking on your phone number and looking in the phone details box on the left of the screen.

  • Hi Joshua,

As Sam mentioned, you can find your PIN number by signing into Ting.com and going to device settings. It is the the MSL of your device. Be sure to contact our support team if you need any help!

  • Hi Morgan.  We use the MSL number of your device as the PIN number.  You can find that by logging in to your Ting account, clicking on 'Device Settings' then clicking on your phone number.  Your phone's information is displayed on the left - look for the 6-digit MSL.

  • Per the help https://help.ting.com/entries/30499898-Porting-Your-Number-Out-of-Ting (and confirmed by this thread), I initiated a port out request by giving the receiving provider my name, address, account number and the device's MSL as the PIN. However, the port was rejected by Ting. Is there something else required?

  • Hey Peter. I located a port out request for one of your numbers and it seems that we haven't received any PINs to port that number out. That port out request came with your correct account number but an empty PIN/password field.

You might need to contact the other carrier to have them update that information. Once they resubmit the request with the 6-digit MSL as the PIN, We'll confirm it for you.

  • Hi Felipe. There were actually two attempts. I called in and apparently the PIN didn't come through either port request. Checking back with the other end to try to get it resolved. Thanks for your help!

  • MMC T

As previously stated, your PIN is the MSL of your device. It was emailed to you when you activated the device and the MSL is listed on your Ting dashboard on the Device Settings page.

  • Hi MMC T,

As Bruce mentioned, your Ting port out PIN is the MSL of your device and can be found under device settings on your Ting account. I will be following up with you via support request. Be on the lookout for an email!

  • Ting main page -> Your account -> Device settings -> [device]

MSL is listed on that page

Your account number is at Your account -> Account settings

  • Hi,

The Port out information tool is not working. Is there a way I can have a port out pin generated for me and sent to my email

  • Hi David,

A port-out PINs is unique to each individual phone line in our system so we wouldn't be able to generate you a new one for you. If you reach out to our customer support by phone or email one of our representatives would be able to investigate the issue that is causing your PIN number to not be accepted.
