Bizon prepaid phone card
Answered

I have purchased a prepaid phone card and am trusting that it can be used on my new Ting.com phone (Samsung Array) and Ting account.

Is my assumption correct?

  • Ting does not use prepaid phone cards. I believe they only bill credit card accounts.

  • Well, hang on Bruce.  I looked up Bizon cards, and it's basically a long distance calling card (mainly for good international rates).  You call one of their 800 numbers and then use the info from the card to make a connection to the destination phone number.  It seems like it probably can be used with Ting because it makes no difference what phone or service you use to call in to the Bizon toll-free phone number before getting the international connection.  So I think the answer is yes because almost any phone can call an 800 number.

  • Look at  http://www.bizoncard.com/prepaid-wireless/

They list wireless carriers that accept their cards, and Ting is not on that list.

  • Oh, I see.  Bizon has a few different types of things.  I was looking at the regular long distance/international calling cards they sell.  That's talking about refills for prepaid cellular.  Gotcha.  Yeah, Ting isn't a prepaid cellular company.

  • They are sort of prepaid, but they do not use payment cards.

  • Still need this question addressed ... using a Bizon pre-paid phone card, that uses and 800 phone number to access, that I can use it with my Ting account.

  • Ah, that goes back to my original answer then if it's a long distance calling card type, rather than a prepaid wireless refill card.  Calling an 800 number is calling an 800 number, so it doesn't matter what phone or phone provider you use.  I don't know what Bizon's rates are like, so you might take a look at Ting's rate table to see if you even want to deal with the calling card, or just use your Ting phone to call directly at Ting's rates.

  • Hi Thea,

Any US-based long distance calling card that's based on dialling a 1-800 number and having your international long distance call routed from there should work just fine with us.

In effect all you're doing is calling into a phone system through a 1-800 number. So long as the number is American and can be dialled at all, you should be all set.

If somehow it turns out any differently and you have some kind of problem with this, please let us know.

  • I agree with Bruce "Ting does not use prepaid phone cards. I believe they only bill credit card accounts."  There are several calling cards available on an online store which are used from other mobile phones with no extra charges, but we can't use them with ting. CiCi Calling Card, Lyca Plan Calling Card, Unlimited North America calling card are some phone cards offered by Ontario Phone Cards Store http://www.ontariophonecards.ca/ and these cards make immediately international calls without entering PIN number.  These prepaid Canada calling cards won't ask for a pin code before allowing the call to go out. This is the easiest way to use phone cards by entering your calling card local or toll free access number and press "call" button. Enter your PIN and destination number without pressing "call" button on your phone. You can find numerous cheap calling cards with different calling quality to different countries and save a lot of money.

  • DonJ,

What are you listing a Canadian calling card supplier? Ting is a US cellular provider. Any 800 numbers used by a Canadian supplier might not work for US users since their primary market is Canadians..
