I get voicemails but no missed calls
Answered

I have three devices the problem is similar on all of them. the phone doesn't ring i don't get a missed call but i get a voice mail notification when i listen to the voice mail it says they just called. on the other end the phone rings 6 or 8 times then goes to voice mail. it doesn't happen every time but i don't know how many calls I'm missing coming from outside my family if they don't leave a voice mail. is this a problem with the phone setting or voice mail or is it something worse like network or the phones them selves.

  • I had the same exact thing on AT&T. I would call my wife while she was home and it would ring on my end but not hers. I believe it is a network issue that crops up when the receiving cell phone has a really weak signal (basically no connection). For whatever reason the network sends a ring back to the caller but your cell phone doesn't have a clue it missed a call.

  • Hi Monica, does the problem occur only at home? If so, I checked the cell towers by your house and they are down. We've flagged them to have a team of Sprint engineers repair the tower. If this problem persists outside your house, shoot us an email and we'll see what we can do for you.

  • oh okay how long does that take normally?

  • It varies on a case by case basis. I've seen it anywhere from a couple days to a few weeks, depending on the severity of the issue. Sprint is on it though, so we'll keep our fingers crossed they resolve it quickly.

  • I have the same problem.  The phone does not ring, there is no missed call on the call log and I receive a voice mail.  This has happened a few times over the last few weeks.  There was one day where I was expecting a call and had the phone on and right next to me. I keep checking it and twice it showed a voice mail and I am sure the phone did not ring.  What can I do about this?

  • I'm wondering if they fixed the tower yet? cause I'm still having the problem around my house. I need to know if it's the tower or our house or your network or something else like the phones themselves?

  • We have this issue, too, just started a ticket, since I didn't see this thread until afterward.

  • Noticed this phenomenon. Phone does not ring, missed call does not log to call history, no notification that a voicemail has been left.

  • Resurrecting an old thread here, but my wife and I have been having the exact same problem as described above since we switched to Ting. Our signal at the house was pretty spotty to begin with, so we added an Airave which we hoped would solve the problem but appears to have only marginally helped.

If you all could reach out to Sprint to have them to look at our nearest home tower for assistance with this we would be most appreciative.

  • I am resurrecting this thread again. I have already contacted support 4 times. It was "fixed" 4 times. The phone does not ring, the voicemail  signal goes off, there is a blank message and nothing on the missed call list. The guy who is coming to fix the water heater tried to call; the phone did not ring on my end. Then I had my son call a couple of times and it rang. So, it doesn't happen every time. I just wish that I wasn't missing so many calls. I am not a casual phone user, so these are very important calls. One gets tired of contacting customer service soooo many times for the same issue....
