  • Allison,

Do you have data disabled on your phone? When I tried accessing Google Play over Wi-Fi on an unactivated phone, I needed to enable data on the unactivated phone even though the phone could not use the data. Google Play then worked over Wi-Fi

I was updating the phone before BYOD, so t was not active on Sprint or Ting at that time.

  • I just joined Ting and I am having a similar issue with an HTC EVO 3D.  My internet is working fine, however I can not seem to download anything from the Google Play store.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Glad to hear it Valerie! Reboots can work wonders. It's like a good nap for your phone -- seems to always make things better.

  • I am having the same problem - inability to connect to a network or access Google Play Store. My husband thought it was his Google account, so he created another one. The phone is an HTC EVO Shift 4G.
I have "background data" checked. Is this the same as having data turned on? For some reason, when the phone searches for a network, even when we are home and the router is right there, it cannot seem to find the network. Is this a Ting thing?
Please clear me up on these. Thanks in advance.
