Samsung Galaxy S2 won't send pictures in MMS
Answered

Hi guys!  My Samsung Galaxy S2 won't send MMS pictures.  I get a server response error on the phone.  Sometimes the error occurs immediately and sometimes the error comes up a few minutes later.  I have logged into the phone with my MSL# and verified that the mmsc url is correct.  I receive and send mms messages fine.  I receive mms pics but I can't send them.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks!

  • Hi John!

For steps on how to get this sorted out please click here and scroll to the Picture Messaging Settings. You will need your MSL code, which can be found in your device settings by clicking on your phone number. The MSL will be located on the left hand side. Please enter that when prompted. If you need further assistance please get in touch.

    All the best!

  • Paraic,

Works perfectly now! Thank you so much! You guys are awesome!

Anyone else with the same problems, I copied and pasted the instructions for you!

    Picture Messaging Settings

Once your Samsung device is confirmed to be activated and you have voice, text messaging and 3G data working, you’ll need to manually program your picture messaging settings.

Before you begin, please log into your account at Ting.com. In the ting dashboard, select your device, and ensure you have checked off "Can send & receive picture & video messages". Then follow these steps:

    1. Open the dialer
    2. Dial # #3282# (# #DATA#)
    3. Touch "Edit"
    4. Enter your Master Subsidy Lock (MSL) (a six-digit code provided to you by Ting in your activation email) and touch "OK"
    5. Touch "Others"
    6. Touch "MMSC URL"
    7. Enter " http://mms.plspictures.com" then touch "OK"
    8. Restart phone

Your MMS settings are now programmed to work on Ting. If you have a 4G WiMax device, you should follow the additional steps below.

  • Hi Tiana, thanks for writing in. Are you having problems sending messages only, or both sending and receiving them?

The first thing to check is whether those features are enabled under your account. Please log in to your account, go to Device Settings and select the device you wish to manage. Make sure that the checkboxes for "Can access the internet" and "Can send and receive picture & video messages" are checked.

Next, please follow the steps John posted above to configure your device with the correct MMS URL then try sending a test picture message to see if it works. If you are still having trouble send us a help request with your account details and we will look into it for you.

I just looked into your account and one of the phones didn't have the MMS feature enabled. I checked this off for you so that it should be up and running now.

  • I seen to be having the same problem. My Samsung s2 won't send our receive pics. Another problem I have is that I can't get a data connection. I lost it a couple weeks after I bought the phone. I have no problem connecting to wifi. Please help!

  • Hey Erika, I took a look for your account but couldn't find one. To make sure that the feature is enabled log on to your Ting account, click on device settings then your phone number. Toward the bottom of the page will be the option to enable or disable the picture messaging feature. Make sure the feature has a checkmark, hit save then reboot your phone. If you are still having trouble send us an email with yourTing account details  here

  • Hi Jennifer,

I can't seem to find your phone number under your name or e-mail address registered for the forums. If you could send us an e-mail at help@ting.com with the e-mail address or phone number registered to your Ting account, we'll be able to troubleshoot the problem for you.
