Caller Id Display wrong (old phone owner)
Answered

When I make a call on my Samsung Sii, the previous user's name is on the caller ID every time I call someone. How do I reset it?  I set the phone up not sure what is happening!

  • Sam,

If there is is simple, way does Ting not reset the caller-id when the number is assigned? I know another MVNO that sets the caller-id to "Cell Phone VA", for instance, if it is a Virginia number.

  •  Usually the change is automatic, but every so often automations miss things. We can make the changes on our end and it is a very simple process.

  • I have not seen the email yet just notifications of the discussion.  Should I call the help number?

  • Hey Jeremy, The email would have gone to the address you use to log into your Ting account. Check your junk mail folders to make sure the message didn't end up there.

  • If it's a simple fix, why can't I get it done? I've had an open request going into a second week now and it's not getting done. Why am I being asked for all numbers that are affected, ALL numbers are affected, and the problem is on your end, not my contacts. This should not have happened in the first place and it shouldn't take weeks to fix.

  • Hi Joanne.  While normally it is a simple fix, once in a while there is a network issue and the fix does not work.  It is rare.  The information is to assist with the network investigation.
