How do I transfer contacts/data from old phone to new?
Answered

When my new phone arrives and I have ported the number to it, what is the best way to transfer my apps, contacts, data, pix, and music to the new device?

  • Hey Randy,

If you're transferring information between smartphones, you can do so by syncing your information to a Gmail account on your old phone. Once you set up the Gmail account on your new phone, all the data should populate over.

Similarly, you can choose to transfer data via Bluetooth or by saving it directly to an SD card.

  • our old phone is a GMS type flip phone.   How do I get the old contacts from that phone onto our new smartphone?

  • Hi Charles!  Is your old phone Bluetooth enabled?  You can pair the two phones and import the contacts into the new phone.  If not, perhaps you can export your contacts to an SD card on the old phone and transfer the card to the new phone and import the contacts that way.

  • Use your google account if you have one. Or use a phone data transfer tool, connect two phones to pc at the same time, transfer data on pc.

  • To transfer the contacts, you can use your google account, but apps, videos or other files, you can use a mobile transfer program. It is easier.
