Follow up - Will the HTC One still be available and if so, will it have a reduced price?
Hi Philip. No word yet on selling the HTC M8 or changing the HTC One price. You will, however, be allowed to BYOD a Sprint HTC One as of April 30th.
Keep an eye on our blog and the BYOD list for any updates.
so I just activated my daughter's I-Phone on TING yesterday. It was a nice easy process. I was pretty excited today seeing the HTC-One M8 available for Sprint Networks at Best Buy...now if I understand properly the BYOD that I just ordered to come next week isn't going to do me any good until TING does something to enable that phone to be used? Seriously? I guess I could cancel the order before it finalizes but I just want to be sure that I understood correctly now...that I won't be able to activate a HTC-One M8 for a while?
Hi Paul. That's correct - only Sprint devices currently on our ' whitelist' can be activated through our BYOD program. We're always working to add newer devices to the list as soon as possible, but sometimes it can be awhile before we're permitted to activate them.
Adding my wish for the M8 to be whitelisted soon. I am waiting to buy the puppy. :) You guys constantly impress me and raise my level of expectations so I am not discouraged. It just means you guys have to keep working harder. :)
Oops. I guess I am in the wrong thread. I thought this was for the HTC One M8. Sorry...
Haha. I guess I was not wrong. I was only mistaken. This is an HTC One M8 thread. :)
Also adding my name to the HTC One M8 wishlist. I don't want to BYOD; I want to buy directly from Ting.
Well Andrew....stay tuned :)
Forgive my confusion but there is HTC One scheduled to be whitelisted on April 30, right? So this device is the M7 variant? There is no official plan to whitelist the M8 yet?
That's correct Arshad, the HTC One (M7) will be whitelisted on April 30th. Typically we have to wait a year as part of our agreement before a new device will be eligible for the BYOD program.
