  • I am also wondering, I need a new phone like yesterday and was going to buy a GSM Galaxy S5 but with the S6 being released soon,  figured I wait for it but not if Ting will not offer it. Would love an answer to this question.

  • Hi Michael,

We don't have any word on if we will be selling the Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 edge at this time. If you are looking at getting a GSM version of the device, your best bet would be to buy it from another retailer, get the Ting GSM SIM card and activate it!

  • Any recommendations on where to purchase an unlocked Samsung Galaxy s6 that would be compatible for Ting? Also, are you positive you can insert the Sim card into the new s6 as Samsung has moved to the solid metal body?

  • Mark,

As Renny mentioned, the Galaxy S6 GSM (unlocked ot T-Mobile) will work on the Ting GSM (T-Mobile) network. I do not currently know of any solution for the Ting CDMA (Sprint) network.

  • Sad. I can't use GSM here, due to coverage, so  I need CDMA. If I want the S6, I just have to wait for Ting to sell it. Is that the bottom line?

  • Yes, either that, or be able to find a used one that was activated on a Sprint account over a year ago.

Sprint & Verizon networks are both locked to only permit devices by ESN or IMEI. Ting buys their phones from Sprint and so Sprint marks those phones as allowed on the Ting CDMA network.

  • So I just watched a very positive review of the Samsung S6 Edge on Linus Tech Tips and thought I'd put my name in the hat for Ting to support and get some of these in stock.

  • I just got my new S6 from T-Mobile and I'm using my Ting SIM in it quite fine. No unlocking - right out of the box (well, technically I did activate the phone with the T-Mobile SIM first - I wanted to make sure that was all working).
