Can I reuse a SIM Card?
Answered

I recently purchased a used Samsung Galaxy S4 phone that doesn't have a SIM Card so I ordered one from Ting. I was about to activate it but a friend asked me to run a quick test of another MVNO that uses Sprint. My question is, if I activate the SIM card on the other MVNO, will I be able to use that same SIM Card on Ting?

  • Hi Emmanuel,

We can't guarantee that it will still be able to work on Ting after being activated on another MVNO. I suggest checking with the other MVNO to see if they modify the device in anyway that would prevent you from moving it to another company.

  • Ok, I decided to just not risk it. Now I have another question that does fit under the same question. I want to try out Ting while still keeping my current service active. So, I want to get a new phone number for testing purposes but then later port my current phone number. Is it possible to do so without having to purchase a new SIM card?

  • Hello again Emmanuel. To activate or port a number to the S4, you will need our micro SIM B1, which you can get from our shop. The other option is to buy a Sprint micro SIM card at another store. In that case, you need to purchase the Sprint micro sim with part number SIMGLW206R - that's the only one that the S4 will take.
