Bringing Motorola Electrify to Ting

I see talk of the Motorola Photon working with Ting (though it's not on the devices page, what's up with that?). The Motorola Electrify is basically the same phone just rebranded for US Cellular and with the 4G removed, given that do you think it would be possible to bring the Electrify over to Ting using a donor phone?

I'd like to know if it's worth trying to buy an appropriate donor phone, or just forget the Electrify I have and buy a phone to actually use with Ting.

  • The Motorola Photon used to be on sale from Ting, but it has since run out of stock. It's not available for purchase anymore.

Pretty much any CDMA phone with a 1900MHz radio (Sprint/Verizon)  that you can get modem access into and rewrite the MEID for and then write in the NAM profiles will work. Some phones will take more or less work, depending on how tight the locks are. I've never played with the Electrify, so your mileage may vary. That being said, it sounds plausible, as that phone appears compatible.

  • Hey there Hillel!

The Motorola Electrify M hasn't been added to the BYOD Whitelist but we do add devices on a fairly regular basis. Keep your eyes peeled!
