Trouble activating LG Optimus S with CyanogenMod7

Greetings,

I'm having trouble activating a LG Optimus S that is rooted and running CyanogenMod7 (Android version 2.3.7).

The BYOD web procedure was successful.  Ting tech support has been very helpful and says it shows active on their system.

None of the ## codes work and Ting suggested a factory reset.

I did a [wipe data/factory reset] and [wipe cache partition] in Xionia CWMA, but the ## codes still do not work.

Any help, suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated!

  • Most custom ROMs don't allow for ## codes. You would need to temporarily revert to the stock ROM to enter the codes then restore your CM7 from a nandroid backup.

  • Where do I get a stock ROM?

I have already done a backup of CM7 in nandroid.

    Thanks for your reply.

  • I would just do a search of the XDA forums and / or Android Central forums for the ROM and directions. I would make sure that your nandroid is current and that you also have a Titanium backup available as well just in case.

  • You might also want to check in those forums whether there are any alternate approaches to Dialer codes.

  • I was able to get my LG Optimus S upgraded to Kraven's CM7 ROM and work with Ting. First, I had to add the standard Sprint ROM. Second, Activate using the Ting directions.   Third, root the phone.  Fourth,  upgrade the   Kraven's CM7 ROM.   It worked.
