ETF - Verizon

Just wondering what other peoples experiences have been with leaving Verizon. My wife decided to leave Verizon to come to Ting with the ETF promo but Verizon has yet to provide her with a final bill. She has called several times and they only send out a monthly bill for the final bill. Which is wrong because they told her she would owe $2xx if she left her contract and she was under contract for another year.

Once you cancel port out they will no longer let you log in to your online account, so checking it online is out.  It seems to confuse them when you call because they attempt to look up the account using the phone number which isnt there anymore.

Its been long enough to get the bill IMHO.

Anyone else have better experience of getting the ETF bill from Verizon?

  • I got my bill in around a week.  I would call again and talk to someone else.

  • I just got my bill in the mail a few days ago after having ported on February 1st (end of my billing month was on the 23rd or something of February, then they mailed out the bill).

I can log in to the account and view the bill if I look for it, but the amount due reads 0 so I'm thinking it'd be sketchy if I tried to pay the bill online, which is lame!

  • I was tired waiting for their final bill too, so I just went to a service store, asked for a printed version, and paid it off there.

  • Called again and they said it was mailed monday, still not here. Making it hard to get that ETF credit.

We went the store, they couldnt help. (Or wouldnt)

  • Well pretty sure they lied as no bill has been mailed. Guess we need to go into the store a second time. Would hate to miss the ETF promo over this.

  • We had trouble, too.  Took about 90 days.  Seems rediculous.  Finally got a bill and submitted - get the halvesies deal from ting.  :)

  • be sure to try and pay off what you owe sooner than later, too.  They keep threatening to send my bill to collections, even though I am paying every other week.

  • I had no problems at all transferring from Verizon.  I was told that I would still be able to access my account online for 3 months after the transfer.

The only surprise for me was actually haw smooth and easy it was.  I was expecting a lot of problems based on my experience porting a number to Ting from Vonage earlier.

  • Slightly unrelated since I ported from Sprint, but they sent my bill at the end of my billing cycle (I get mine through email). By the time I received my bill and attempted to file a claim for my ETF, I was out of the promotion-- by two days. I submitted a help request, but they said they couldn't do anything. So just a warning-- get your final bill as quickly as possible, or you'll lose your ETF relief.

  • Hi Meagan, that is correct. Eligible entries for our  ETF promotion is effective on or after September 10th. I know missing a promotion by a few days isn't the most pleasant thing in the world, I've been there, but we had to draw the line somewhere. If we make the exception for you at two days, then why not three days? If we made the exception at three days, why not four days? If we made the exception at four days, why not a week? And so on.

So, we might not have been able to save you money off your ETF, but hopefully we're still saving you a heap of money off your monthly bill. Thanks for choosing Ting, we really appreciate it.

  • I got a final bill but it just showed the total amount owed, no breakdown of usage and ETF.....I tried to log in online but my account access had already been terminated.....it has taken me over 2 months to finally get to talk to a human (I usually had to hang up after being on hold for 30 minutes or more cause I have a life and a job) and then got transferred 5 times! They finally sent an itemized statement but I see now I have to find a fax number because I have no way of scanning the pages to a PDF document to upload it!

  • Mary, If you have an Android phone check out CamScanner: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intsig.camscanner  I actually used that app to scan and email my final Verizon bill to Ting. I think it may watermark with the free version but Ting didn't mind at all.

  • Oh and if on iOS this looks to be an equal alternative: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/doc-scan-scanner-to-scan-pdf/id453312964?mt=8
