Sprint Coverage in Buffalo, NY. Anyone have the skinny?
Answered

The Sprint map says it's good with recent upgrades. Most recent reviews are saying it's still bad. Anyone live in Buffalo area and have input?

  • I have a Samsung Galaxy S III. The coverage is bad in Williamsville with the exception of Main Street which has five bars. In my house my phone constantly went to roaming before I got an Airvana Airave. Around the Galleria on the 90 you can get 4G LTE which is fast when I used it. In the city Sprint has good coverage with most areas being 4 or 5 bars and the First Niagara center has 4G LTE though during a Sabers game it can get slow. In West Seneca around the Southgate plaza you can also get fast 4G LTE with about 2 or 3 bars. I've heard on another forum that the East Aurora tower was the first to get LTE so I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the south towns has it. I also wouldn't be surprised if Sprint launched LTE in and around Buffalo in the next few months. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the reply. That's what I was afraid of. I'll check again at a later date.

  • The coverage is still pretty bad. I'm lucky if I get 4G. Usually it's 3G and a lot of time I only have one or 2 bars. There are dead zones throughout the city and the first ring suburbs (Tonawanda, Amherst, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Hamburg) as well as in North Tonwanda and the Niagara Falls.
