LG Volt

One of your blogs a few weeks back mentioned the LG Volt coming to the Ting device page in mid to late May.  Just wondering what the outlook is for availability.  Thanks.

  • So, actually, this was just stupid user error. I had set a 1000 MB data alert / limit months ago and forgot about it. Hit the limit in the middle of nowhere on a road trip. I guess I'm a bit Sprint paranoid. O_o

  • Curious about the message though, why would you get a message that the device needed to be removed from the network? Who sent the message?

  • Hi Jeff,

I see that you contacted us a Sarah on our support team took care of you! As you mentioned, a usage alert got triggered which disabled your services. When your service is disabled at a network level, your device will display an error message that was programmed into the phone by the manufacturer. Sometimes that code doesn't appropriately address the problem which can lead to some confusion. If any services on your Ting device stop working, your best bet would be to check your Ting account online and make sure that everything is enabled as it should be. You can make any changes (such as re-enabling a service) if needed.

As far as Sprint devices go, we don't have any word from Sprint that they are going to be removing any devices that are currently active. Prepaid Sprint devices that  were activated on Ting before Sprint changed the rules for BYOD devices should continue to work as they were.
