Issue moving over Galaxy Note 3 from AT&T
Answered

So my wife has a Galaxy Note 3. I moved the number over from AT&T. But the phone is prompting me for a "SIM network unlock PIN". Some internet research suggests this is because the phone is locked, which is strange because this phone was unlocked before it got put on the AT&T account. So I figured they re-locked it or something so I go on the website to unlock it and it gets denied. So we go into the AT&T store and they can't help us because they only do unlocks on the site.

We already moved the phone number over so the phone doesn't work at the moment and I just want to get the unlock code for the phone, and AT&T can't be bothered to help so I am wondering if there's another way.

Edit: Also the SIM is a new one we bought from Ting, not the old one.

  • Considering AT&T says they will lock any of the new Apple SIM devices used on their network, it would not surprise me they locked the phone just because it was on their network. They would need to unlock it.

  • I'll get in touch with them again and explain the situation. I am starting to hate AT&T even more than I did before.
