I have a Verizon Moto X, purchased in November, 2013, and my contract expires with them in November, 2015. The phone itself was free at the time I started my contract period, but I have been paying through the nose for service through Verizon ever since. According to Ting, my device is compatible with Ting's BYOD service, and I have already ordered and received a Ting SIM card, but my phone is not yet unlocked, and I am not sure how to proceed from here.
I am trying to make sure I have a seamless transition with a minimum of interruption to cell phone service.
When I contact Verizon first to unlock my phone, will they cancel my service immediately?
