LG G2 - Any issues?
Answered

Well... we all know whats happening with Sprint & the FEC thing...

I saw many posts around the web that T-Mobile phones aren't having any issues coming over to Ting. So before I pull the trigger on a G2... I just wanted to ask. Am I in the clear with a brand new T-Mobile edition LG G2? I was just recently burned with an S4... so I'm on high alert.

Thank you for any help.

  • You should be but make sure you run it through the IMEI checker on t mobile. It's very accurate. Many TMO phones fail the checker for good cause, people Finance the phone and try to sell before paying off the phone. If the phone passes the TMO check, it will be good to go on Ting

    1. You certainly won't have any FEC problems--that is limited to Sprint.

    2. You will need the Ting GSM Sim card.

    3. If the ESN is clear, it should be fine.  I would see what the Ting checker says (even if it is brand new and from a store or never activated).  https://ting.com/byod/

    4. The other thing to know is that Ting  GSM (T-Mobile) is open, but officially in beta. This means most things on most T-mobile phones should work fine, but there may be small exceptions. Perhaps someone with an LG G2 already on Ting  GSM could confirm [you might edit your title to "LG G2 GSM - Any issues?" to catch their attention]

  • Just a status update: The G2 came over flawlessly. Took all of 3 minutes for the number to switch from one device to the other.

And the Ting GSM Sim did its job.

Its nice to be happy once again :-)
