Data Plan Beyond XL

I'm loving Ting service so far and it's saved me a lot of $$. I currently have two smart phones on the plan and on most months I stay under the 1GB limit for data. However, I am about to add 2 more phones, and I am worried that I will go over my data allotment.

Is there a way for ting to introduce a data allotment beyond 2GB so that it would be a cost savings over 1.5/mb?

Maybe a 2xl plan for $39 that is 3GB? Or something along the lines of Google's Fi - $10/gb?

  • I agree. I find myself over the XL plan every single month and this would help alot!

  • I wish they had a hotspot plan. Their data here is not cheap. I had service with another Sprint MVNO and had unlimited 4G data for $100 mo. I'd jump on that! Their fiber optic network will take forever to be nationwide.

  • I wholeheartedly agree! I can cap and control the amount of data I use on my phone, but my wife is another story. She regularly blows out the XL data plan by an extra GB or 2. I'm thinking about breaking up the shared plan and putting her back on a big cellular provider just to keep the costs down.

I love what Ting stands for, but my cell phone bill is not living up to expectations just due to data overage costs. It needs to be more competitively priced or tiered.

  • Hi Usman,

The XL Data plan refers to our old pay-per-use rates which we no longer offer. If you are looking to use more mobile data I would suggest reaching out to our customer support so that we can look at your monthly data usage and switch you to a plan that fits those needs. Our customer support is available from 8 am to 11 pm ET on weekends and from 8 am to 1 am ET on weekdays. They would be more than happy to help by phone, email, or online chat.
